That's How I Roll....

That's How I roll; What someone would say to insinuate that it was their style, or that it was the way they usually do things. As many of you know, or don't Ryan has 3 vises; athletic shoes (mostly bought for the boys), t-shirts and cars (but we won't talk about that). While on our cruise we had a good time finding clever tee's for him. Jackson choose the best one that was totally fit Ryan. It was a Tommy Bahama that had a "blinged" golf cart on the back with the saying below "That's How I Roll". So Funny! Ryan recently started his own consulting company. He named it Zofo Consulting, LLC. Can anyone guess where that came from? If not, don't be ashamed he had to tell me. Very clever in my opinion. Ryan is adjusting to life at his new job. He is now home all day Sunday. The boys really like having their dad home. Ryan and Landon bonded while we were on our cruise. Landon wandered around last week looking for his dad. Landon even cried for him when I put him in time out. We all appreciate his sacrifice to commute to work each week and enjoy all the time we spend together as a family.

The Kids celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday all this past week at school. Ayden and his best friend Sammie even enjoyed (not) Green Eggs and Ham. I have lovingly nick named Landon and Alex "Thing One and Thing Two". They all had fun playing in their Dr. Seuss pj's on Tuesday night while Liz and I tried to watch American Idol. They had a lot of fun eating pizza, playing ball and being very very noisy~I have learned that's what kids do best. We are lucky to have such great friends!

Please help my friend Liz... My friend Liz has been training to run the Salt Lake Marathon with Team In Training to raise money to help fight Leukemia and Lymphoma. She set a goal to raise $1,700! Landon's moto firmly in place even at th Heugly's: It wouldn't be fun if it wasn't messy!

While the boys and I were on the cruise, Landon spent some time at the Heugly's so Ryan could work during the day. It seems like he didn't stray to far from his curious self and even got his best friend Alex in on the action. The two of them dumped pretzels, chips and cereal out on the floor and had a great time jumping on it....sorry Liz! We appreciate all your help with Landon while we were away, you are the best!

Messy Little Fingers...

Everyday I wake up, ready for the mess. I look around and think O' GREAT!!!! they've already made a mess. I wonder what they're thinking, as they smear makeup on the wall. Is it "Poor, poor, Mommy." or "This was cool after all"? They touch and grab, and mess and bother, While I sit there saying "Please, just go find your father" I wonder why they do it? Day after day -Don't they know it's hard on me? I don't have time to play. When I put them to sleep at night, I breathe a sigh of relief. At least right now I sit and enjoy the wonders of disbelief. I look around at my house and think, "Didn't I just clean? Everyday I try and try, but it's the same old thing. I always stop and wonder "Why, me Lord - O' why me?" I've been blessed, yes I know -But did you have to make it three? I love my children drealy, as I'm gettin out the rags. I sweep and mop and clean up all night, praying tomorrow I won't be a hag. I see those messy little fingers on windows doors and walls- Three little hand prints reminding me how small. Life isn't easy and kids are always testy, I clean up those messy little fingers thanking God for little blessings. The sun is rising, and we awake; "Hurry, Mommy - Hurry, Mommy - It's time to get up and skate! Please take us to the park and play with us outside. We will be good, we promise, and fill your heart with pride." My children, you are wonderful, and today I will take off - Not from a corporate job - just from being a cleaning shop. It took me three years to figure it out, and now I share with you; those messy little fingers are the best things God's ever given to you.

Ahoy Matey!!!

We had a wonderful adventure on the high Caribbean sea! Unfortunately, Ryan had to stay a shore to work and we left Landon home with daddy. Ryan was able to work remotely and stay home with Landon. I am sure they had some adventures of their own. The boys and I left our port in Miami and our first port was in Samana, DR. We meet a young man named Jordan that had a million dollar smile and took a ride of a life time going up and down the hill in his motorcycle/ricochet. It was an eye opening experience for our boys to see the extreme poverty. We set sail towards Tortola, BVI were most of the Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed. The beach was beautiful and we enjoyed amazing vista island views. We took in a day at the beach, drank coconut juice and explaining the topless european girls to the boys, laughing at all the men ogling. We enjoyed our days at sea filling our time playing shuffle board, cards, swimming, and of course eating! Can you say piggies....holy cow I think we ate enough for 3 weeks! We also enjoyed magician Brad Rocket and watched the Bee Movie 6 times in our tiny cabin. We had room service twice and the boys loved eating breakfast in bed. We docked in Beautiful St. Thomas, USVI and rented a car and went to Sapphire beach...it was another adventure because they drive on the opposite side of the road! We went snorkeling and even Ayden got in on the action. I got my hair braided and got a terrible sunburn on my head. It was a great day at the beach. Our last stop was Great Sturip Cay, Bahama's. It was another memorable day at the beach were Ayden got buried in the sand and he and Jackson jumped waves and played in the sand.

We had a wonderful cruise and made lots of new friends from the staff on the ship. Wilson for India who is expecting a bay anytime and can't go home for another 3 months! Warner from Haiti, Diana from Romania and Christine for the Philippians. They work 7 days a week and about 90 hours a week! They don't get to go to shore and are on contact for 10 months at a time! We are so thankful for what we have and for the memories we made. We missed Ryan and Landon terribly and are glad to be home. We are all still recovering from sea legs. I got sea sick twice and Jackson once not bad for our first cruise. We look forward to cruising again this time with Ryan and Landon!!

Jackson at Sea...

Jackson had a great trip on the sea. He loves going to the beach and meeting many new friends. At our first port Samana, DR we meet a boy named Jordan that took us around on his motorcycle/ricochet. It was a very eye opening experience for our tender young Jackson. He was stunned by how the people lived and had nothing. That night back at the ship he asked if maybe Jordan could come live at grandma and grandpa's apartment so he could have a better
life and cried. It was so tender and it made a big impression on Jackson. Jackson loved playing on the beach and having sand fights with Ayden. He even snorkeled with mom in St. Thomas and saw some really big colorful fish! He loved keeping busy on the ship playing shuffle board, basketball, swimming and making new friends. His favorite experience was going to see magician Brad Rocket perform. He loved it and even helped Brad at an informal show. He can wait to practice the magic he learned. Jackson missed his dad and his little brother and was always thinking of what we could bring them back as a surprise. He also loved getting a temporary tattoo and showed it off to everyone. He had a great trip on the sea and is so "relieved we are home to normal"!

Ayden At Sea...

Ayden was very apprehensive about going on the cruise without his daddy and little brother, but he had a lot of fun!! His favorite time of day was going to our cabin at night to see what towel animal they had left for us! He had tons of fun dressing as a pirate and sailing the Caribbean! He played until his tiny body couldn't go anymore and he sometimes fell fast asleep on the deck! He loved getting buried in the sand, jumping waves and drinking coconut juice right out of the coconut! He was afraid of going to deep in the ocean because of the fish so he stayed in shallow water were he could quickly scamper out. He missed his daddy and little brother so much and remember them in his prayers every night. He missed his best friend Sammie and asked "how many days is it now till we go home so I can play with Sammie?" about a hundred times. he loved swimming and playing shuffle board and eating in the Blue Lagoon Cafe. He had a great trip but is "so excited to be at his own home"!

Last but definatly not least Landon

It wouldn't be fun if it wasn't messy! As you can see Landon is our very very curios, messy boy. He loves anything gooey! He has been a handful since conception! He is or very impatient, loud and demanding 2 year old. We love him so much! As you know, he came into this life struggling so we try to give him a break but are you kidding me....If he goes anywhere he runs, jumps and screams. He is all boy! He love to sing and dance. He loves Blues Clues and is the first to show you exactly where the clues are. He also loves everything Elmo! I can't imagine my life without him and think life would be rather dull if I didn't have to clean up his many curious messes! Landon also talks 100 miles per hour and I have a hard time keeping up! He recently learned how to open the refrigerator and pantry :o all I can say is "Here comes trouble!"

Ayden

Ayden is my big helper. He recently helped Landon with a bath. He told me "mom I can do it!" and proceeded to wash Landon's hair, rinse him off, dry him off, put lotion on him, diaper him, and dress him! I was amazed. Ayden is in Kindergarten and loves to go to school to see his best friend Sammy. I secretly think that is the only reason he goes ;). He is not a morning person :o He plays soccer and baseball. he likes to keep up with his older brother Jackson and can't wait to play football! Ayden is our little entertainer, he loves to sing and dance. He also loves to help me in the kitchen doing dishes, cooking or cleaning up. He is looking forward to being out of school for the summer so he can "play all day and night".

Jackson

Jackson is our sports fanatic. He plays everything; football, baseball, soccer, tennis, swimming, golf, basketball and now lacrosse! He likes everything so he has a hard time deciding what to play next. His football team won the championship this past fall and he asks everyday when he'll be able to play again. He is doing great at school and is in a 3rd/4th split class and loves his teacher Miss. Crocker. He won 3rd place in school for Reflections. He entered a beautiful picture he took of a Rainbow! He was baptized by his dad on August 27th! He is a wonderful example to everyone and loves his little brothers. He is very tender hearted and cares about everyone. He could eat pizza every night of the week if it was up to him. Jackson misses his dad a lot during the week and wrote Ryan a wonderful letter for his birthday in January. He is very excited about the birth of his new cousin Cohen Andre and "Can't wait for him to get big so he can play basketball"! We look forward to him playing Lacrosse and cheering him on......

Renee

Well, what can I say I am a sleep deprived mom of 3 wonderful, energetic boys! I recently accepted a calling to be the primary secretary. On more thing on my list of "TO DO'S". I am very excited to get to know the children in our ward. I love attending all my son's games and volunteer in their classes as much as I can. I hate to admit it but I am a reality TV junkie. I love American Idol, and all the others. I tape them and watch them at night when I fold my laundry, put away toys and mop my floors. It's my peace of mind :). I am still hooked on Days of Our Lives too...watching it for 25 years now, boy that just aged me! I am thankful for all my family and good friends that keep me sane during the week. Thanks Liz for getting me going on this little venture! One more thing to keep me up at night ;).

Ryan

As most of you know, Ryan has been working in California for the past 2 years. He recently accepted a position in Sacramento with Sutter Health and will now be based there instead of the beautiful bay area. We all look forward to exploring the area on our annual trip to the coast. It has been quit an adjustment for our family having him gone during the week. The boys miss him terribly and he swears that they change while he is gone. We all appreciate the sacrifice he makes so that I can stay home with our wonderful boys!
