All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. ~Walt Disney

There is a light at the end of this tunnel...

After a long night with Jackson, I was ecstatic that Landon was feeling much better this morning. While we were snuggled up in bed this morning catching up on last nights American Idol, Landon jumped up and started dancing to his favorite Idol...David Arcuhuleta. I can see a light at the end of this tunnel, 2 out of 3 are on the mend...YAHOOOOO! Go David!!

All 3.......

I guess it was bound to happen...All 3 boys are officially sick. Jackson came home from school today sick! Ayden and Jackson both have typical "flu" like symptoms you know, the aches, tummy aches, fever, runny nose and vomiting....I feel so bad for them. Luckily they have no strep symptoms like red spots or sore throats. Hopefully they will be on the mend soon......and I'm not next!

Sick, but enjoying the sunshine...

I was in putting in a load of laundry..story of my life and I couldn't find Landon and Ayden anywhere. I spotted the front door cracked open and went to look outside. I found them both sitting quietly (you know they are sick because neither of them is ever quite) on the sidewalk drawing with sidewalk chalk. Ayden said "mom, the sunshine might help me feel better and Landon needs to get better too and the warm sun always makes me feel better". It didn't last long, they were both back in bed watching a movie with in 5 minutes.

Another one down....

Ugggg....I guess it was inevitable, Ayden is now sick too. Poor little guy has been up all night with a fever, upset tummy and aches. Looks like we are going to have a long long week ahead. On the bright side, Landon slept well last night so he might be on the up and up *fingers crossed*.

Lacrosse anyone............

Jackson had his first Lacrosse game on Saturday...It was so much fun to watch. Jackson is #1 on his team. He did a great job and is really enjoying learning and playing the game. Ayden and Landon enjoyed the game, the sunshine and eating snacks..(little did we know Landon was sick, he had a fever Friday night but was happy during the day...UGGGG!) We played just above the capital and luckily had a wonderful spring day. His team won the game 5 to O. He made 2 great shots at the goal but neither went in.....there's always next time. Way to go Jackson!!!

Just when we thought we were safe....

Just when we thought we would have an easy year as far as sickness goes it happened...our little Landon has strep and a double ear infection. He has had a fever all weekend and pulling at his ears saying "hot, ears hot" and drooling like crazy, so at about 9:30 PM I got a flashlight and looked down his throat, he hated it of course and screamed...that's when I saw them...horrible little red and white spots all over his cheeks, roof of his mouth and down his throat. I took him to Kids Care and they confirmed the strep but when the doctor looked in his ears and gasped, I knew something was bad. The doctor said that he was surprised that his ear hadn't burst and Landon was in such good spirits because his right ear was so infected. He then looked in the left ear and yeap, it was infected too. Poor Little Landon. He is now on antibiotics and should be back to himself in a couple of days!!

START YOUR ENGINE'S.....

At first Jackson wasn't to excited about building a Pinewood Derby car...he actually didn't want anything to do with it. But with a little "coaxing" from mom and dad he decided to do it. Jackson's grandpa Russ helped him design his car, cut the wood and helped him with all the finishing touches. Jackson had fun time building his car with his grandpa. He sanded and painted it all by himself. He chose a orange and blue design and did a great job. In the beginning, Jackson's first Pinewood Derby wasn't the greatest experience. His car had a bum wheel and he quickly got bummed out. He did win an award for the best "Hot Rod" and that made him happy. He also raced his dad's derby car from when he was 8 and that car was super fast...it beat ever car in the open race! By accident, Jackson discovered in the open race that his car was much faster when it went backwards so he had fun racing it down the track backwards. He looks forward to the next race and says that he is going to build the best race car yet!

Go Jazz Sweep Houston!!!

The boys were getting pumped up for tonight's playoff game. It's a late start at 8:30 PM MTN time so I am not looking forward to waking them for school tomorrow morning but a promise is a promise..right? GO UTAH JAZZ!!!

Desperately seeking SPRING....

Did Mother Nature and Jack Frost have a misunderstanding? I looked out the window and what did I see..snow falling like a blizzard on my trees! What?? My patio furniture is out on my deck, the barbecue is ready for steak, my swing set and trampoline are ready for the boys to come play but once again we have snow...Crazy. Did I mention the cold and wind...BURRRR.

Is it Wednesday already...My process to evolution....Week 2

If only it was just that easy....this week was a pure struggle for me. I didn't exercise like I should have and didn't watch what I ate...to many luncheons. Ok, here goes, *sigh* I only lost 1.5 lbs....UGGG! Well, there is always next week right?

"I guess that's all I got to say about that"~Forest Gump

"Cute, Landon Cute"

Meet Alex, Landon's best friend (on good days). Landon's favorite pass time is stealing Alex's darling hair bows, which she never goes without. He will snatch it an run as fast as he can away. Alex protests and I have to go fetch it from him and tell him it's not nice. Well, yesterday while Alex was at my house I was doing her hair and I put one bow in her hair and she had two. Landon quickly picked it up and tried as best as he could to attach it to his hair. After many tries he started to cry..."my bow, my bow" as big tears streamed down his face. I quickly fastened it to his hair and he smiled and exclaimed "cute, Landon cute". I thought the novelty would pass in a minute and it was no big deal but I was wrong....he wore it for hours and cried uncontrollably whenever it feel out or I took it. What's up with that? I am guessing that he just wanted a little attention and to be "cute" since I am always complementing Alex for her cute bows. He is pretty cute don't you think???

Ayden at bat.....

Ayden had a great time at baseball on Tuesday night. It was a bit cold with the wind but he is always in good spirits. He hit the ball really well and loves to play in the dirt, I know it's not part of the game but you can tell Ayden that! Way to go Ayden!!

STRIKE YOU'RE OUT!!

"Take me out to the ball game,Take me out with the crowd. Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack, I don't care if I never get back. Let me root, root, root for the home team, If they don't win it's a shame. For it's one, two, three strikes, your out, At the old ball game."

Jackson made it look easy last night.....3 batters...3 STRIKE OUTS! It was so fun to watch. He had quite a fan club last night too..Thanks everyone for coming it meant soooo much to Jackson. See YOU at his next game....Way to go Cardinals!!!

GO UTAH JAZZ!!!

series....JAZZ 2 ROCKETS 0

A little puzzled...

Landon has been so into puzzles lately. he could put the same one together over and over again. We found him the other night in a basket trying to put one together, I guess he figured it was a safe spot...

Sleeping Boys....

When my children were babies, I would spend hours watching them in their sweet slumber, wondering if they dream and adoring everything about them. I was so attuned to them, I could hear them breathe from the next room and wake just before they would cry from hunger or a wet diaper. I would often take them on walks in the moon light on warm summer nights and found myself wishing upon many stars for their happiness and health. As they grew, I lost that magic, or so I thought. Once again I was delighted to find myself under their spell once again, captivated by the awe and wonder that is them....Jackson, Ayden and Landon.

One must be one's own inspiration....

Today my friend Liz ran her first marathon The Salt Lake Marathon...AMAZING! She came in at just over 5 hours and it was very emotional. As soon as I saw her my eyes teared and my heart filled with joy. She is so awesome, she didn't start with a 5K or a half she went right for the full marathon! She has been fighting with her IT band for the past month and she still finished, I am in awe. Landon, Ayden and I went to cheer her on at the finish line with many more friends and family. What a true inspiration she has been to me and continues to be...I love you Liz way to go I am soooo proud of you!!

Ladies who lunch or dinner....

God knew that everyone needed
Companionship and cheer...
He knew that people needed someone
Whose thoughts are always near.

He knew they needed someone kind
to lend a helping hand...
Someone to gladly take the time
To care and understand...
That's why God gave us friends

God knew that we all needed someone
To share each happy day...
To be a source of courage
When troubles come our way...
Someone to be true to us
Whether near or far apart...
Someone whose love we'll always hold
and treasure in our hearts...

So you gotta have friends...Marnie, Larene, Renee, Karen, Heather and Jennifer, missing Jen, Amber, Emily and Kristine. These are incredible women! We all survived opps served in YW together and all became very close. Since the day we were released 5 years ago we decided to keep in contact and we try to get together every other month...it doesn't always work out that way an not everyone can attend but its the thought that counts right? In that time 7 of us have moved, one of us has gotten married, and 10 new children have been born..1 on the way...Congrats Marnie and Christopher! There have been may more life changing events between us but one thing has remained...our friendship. I am truly thankful for each and every one of these women and for the special friendship we share.

Obsession....Whatever!

Ok, so I am going to admit it...At first I was afraid that the movie would completely destroy the eloquently written love story and that the characters they had chosen were all wrong but can I just say now that I am so excited for the movie to be released and to read the the final book, which by the way I have already per ordered. I hesitated for months before finishing eclipse because I couldn't bare waiting to read the next one. At first I was wary about the whole vampire thing but everyone told me I would love it and they were right I did, I mean DO. My friend Liz found this great website called Twilight Moms...www.twilightmoms.com and I literally got lost reading and looking at the pictures for 2 hours! They had this to say on the front page;
SO...YOU THOUGHT YOU WERE THE ONLY ONE whose life was turned upside down once you read Twilight...

Your house is a disaster with piles of laundry in every corner and stacks of dirty dishes at record breaking heights. You imagine your husband is a vampire (or werewolf) and have the libido of a newlywed again! You keep convincing yourself that "cold cereal makes a perfectly wholesome dinner" and the pizza delivery boy is now on your Christmas card list. Your children are free to run amuck as long as no one comes to you bleeding...too badly.
Oh, there's guilt alright...but that's not enough! You can't tear yourself away from the books and damned be the consequences!

There are more of us out there than I thought. Fans of the Twilight Series in OUR STAGE of life (whether you're a mom or not) need a place where we can gather unashamed of our irrational obsession with vampires and werewolves. We need a place where "our kind" can relate without having to wade through all the teenage internet code mumbo jumbo like "OMG!!! IMHO Edward is sooo Hawt!!!" (usually a dead givaway that you should be doing your social studies homework for 3rd period instead of playing on the computer.) FYI, it was a group of 14/15 year olds that "changed" me. However, OUR world of balancing family, work, home, marriage AND...our Twilight obsession is unique, fun, and oh, so very humorous. The personal stories and experiences I've heard/read from women on both sides of the planet are a blast. YOU LADIES ROCK!!!
...and "Twilight Moms" is dedicated to YOU!!!

I cheered...you mean to tell me that I wasn't the only adult mommy that was taken in by this hypnotic "teen" love story! Are you kidding me? There is a whole community dedicated to the Twilight saga...and I didn't hesitate to join them. I am so thankful that I no longer have to hide my obsession and I have other mom's that can relate to the madness. I am also looking forward to reading her new book "The Host" and may just start my own book club so we can all be obsessive together...watch for your invitation it comes out May 6th.....mark your calenders that is only 18 days away......and Breaking Dawn comes out in 106 days! In case you were wondering I have a countdown on my blog...I know scary.

My process to evolution...Week 1

Did you watch it? If not stop here and watch it....SOOO funny...wish I could day the same about myself when I am "undressed" WHATEVER! But I am on my way...sorry if you are now craving chocolate...join my world!! Drum roll please...I am down 3 lbs since last week, I know I know not the whopping 10+ lbs that they loose in a week on the biggest looser but still -3! I wasn't strict on eating healthy this week I just focused on getting moooooving ...*LOL* I have tried to pay attention to my eating habits and my weakness is at night...I have terrible sweet tooth. I don't go to bed until late, I am up cleaning and doing laundry......I walk past the kitchen to get to my laundry room and curse I get a snack. I also spend a lot of time on the go and when we get home from the days sport events mac & cheese, grilled cheese or pizza seems to be the dinner trend....terrible I know but with Ryan gone I tend to cook what I know the boys will eat. Also, I am a cola addict...I am not picky, diet coke, diet pepsi or coke zero I crave it, sick I know but there could be worse things right?? Well, I am going to watch what I eat this week and see what happens....On to week 2!!

Are you ready to cheer????

It's the most wonderful time of the year.....where I become a lunatic "sports mom" running my son's to a game or two every evening. We have a crazy couple of months ahead....Jackson is playing baseball on Monday and Wednesday evenings and has lacrosse practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings with games starting soon on Saturdays. Ayden plays baseball Tuesday, Thursday and some Friday evenings and soccer Saturday mornings. I have posted their game schedules to the right so if you'd like to join us and cheer them on, I am sure they would love it......Go Ayden's Angel's!! Go Jackson's Cardinal's!! Go Ayden's Blue Dragon's!! Go Jackson's Brighton Bengal's LAX!!

Rolling down a grassy hill..

Rolling down the grassy hill, laughing and smiling ignoring the bumps and twigs. The hill passes fast behind me as I roll faster and faster. I reached the bottom, up to the top again to roll down the hill.

Ayden and Landon kept busy at Jackson's baseball game rolling down the hills laughing....to be honest it was a little scary to watch!

Batter's Up...

Jackson started the 2008 baseball season with a bang! He hit a fly over second base and made it to 3rd....He stole home for a run! He has been practicing pitching with his dad and asked the coach to pitch. I was amazed....Can I just say how proud I am of my oldest son. He pitched a no hit inning, he walked the first batter an then took a moment to shake off his nerves....2nd batter, 3rd batter, 4th batter he struck them all out! It was so fun to watch. The next inning he caught a fly ball at 2nd base for and out! The next inning he was at the pitchers mound again, the first player got a hit but he didn't let that bother him...he became very serious and threw 2 strikes and then it happened....the batter hit the ball and it headed straight towards Jackson. I gasped, it hit Jackson's right knee.....he crumpled to the ground and the coaches rushed out to help Jackson as the player rounded the bases and headed home. The coach carried him off the field as the moms and dad cheered, I meet him in the dugout and he sobbed. I lifted his pants to find a HUGE swollen bruise on his knee, it looked so painful. He sat for a minute and tried to shake it off because he wanted to hit...he was next up at bat when his team can in. He got up a walked it off best he could and hobbled out to the plate. The first pitch he hit a fly over 3rd base and ran best he could to 1st and then 2nd. It was actually painful to watch him run. He stole 3rd and then home. His whole team cheered him in and he collapsed on the bench clearly in pain. When we got home he took a long bath and he crawled into bed and we iced his knee. I wanted to take a picture of it to post but he said "no mom, you don't need to post my very hurt ugly knee". As I tucked him in bed he said "my team had a great 1st game didn't we?" "next time I pitch I won't let the ball hit me". I am so proud of him. Jackson never said I did good or I hit good it was always my team did good...I guess I am doing something right.

It's a Webkinz world....

Ahhhh, Webkinz. My Ayden just loves Webkinz. Ayden has been asking for a pet forever and I have discovered the next best thing...Webkinz! If you haven't heard of them, I don't know where you have been. They are great, you get to choose a pet or two or three..name it, feed it and take care of it all thanks to our wonderful cyber world on the internet. They don't bark, have accidents and you don't have to take them for walks they ARE the perfect pet. Ayden play's with all of his pets....8 to be exact every day and he told his dad that he wanted enough Webkinz pets to cover his bed. He plays games to earn money to buy food, feeds them, buys them cute clothes and beds....he is a very good owner. Last night at about 8:45 PM Ayden remembered that he hadn't feed his pets and was so upset because I wouldn't let him get on the computer "so he could feed his poor poor pet's that he loves so much!" Are you kidding me? He is trying to prove that he can handle a "real life puppy to love" and takes it very seriously. My only hope is that this yearning for a real pet will fade...I don't have time to take care of one more living thing, I already take care of 5!

Oh, The places' you'll go....

Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You're off to Great Places!
You're off and away!

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the guy who'll decide where to go.

You'll look up and down streets. Look 'em over with care.
About some you will say, "I don't choose to go there."
With your head full of brains and your shoes full of feet,
you're too smart to go down any not-so-good street.

And you may not find any
you'll want to go down.
In that case, of course,
you'll head straight out of town.

Go Bee's.....

Ryan took Jackson and Ayden to see a Salt Lake Bee's game this weekend. They had a great day enjoying the sunshine...it was 70+, pizza, baseball and most of all spending time with their dad. They look forward to going to another game soon......GO BEE'S!

Jumping Boys...

Whenever you jump, jump, jump,
Hear your heart go thump, thump, thump!
That’s because a jump, jump, jump
Speeds up your heart’s pump, pump, pump!
Jump, jump, jump!
Thump, thump, thump!
Pump, pump, pump!

The boys had a great day jumping on the trampoline. Landon is getting so big and he can hold his own with his big brothers! Jackson showed us all that he can do a front flip. Time goes by so fast.....

Hey, Batter Batter!

Angel's vs. Giants...Ayden played his first baseball game for the 2008 season today. It was cold and windy but he was so excited. He hit the ball on both his up's, played catcher and got tagged 3 players for outs! He had a great time. Landon bundled up and enjoyed the game with his favorite snack, ceetos (for about 5 minutes until his hands got cold). We look forward to a great season a
nd warmer weather. Go Ayden's Angel's!!

Thought I would share this with you.....

These are the days of the open hand
They will not be the last
Look around now
These are the days of the beggars
And the choosers
This is the year of the hungry man
Whose place is in the past
Hand in hand with ignorance
And legitimate excuses
The rich declare themselves poor
And most of us are not sure
If we have too much
But well take our chances
Because God stopped keeping score
I guess somewhere along the way
He must have let us all out to play
Turned his back and all gods children
Crept out the back door
And its hard to love,
Theres so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above
Say its much too late
Well maybe we should all be
Praying for time
These are the days of the empty hand
Oh you hold on to what you can
And charity is a coat you wear
Twice a year
This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there
Is over here
So you scream from behind your door
Say whats mine is mine and not yours
I may have too much
But Ill take my chances
Because God stopped keeping score
And you cling to the things
They sold you
Did you cover your eyes when
They told you
That he cant come back
Because he has no children
To come back for

A dream is a wish your heart makes

and my heart makes a wish for you...

that you may find a rainbow

where all your dreams will come true.

May there be sunlight ever streaming

into your heart each day,

may you find the hand of friendship

along each new highway.

And may loving arms enfold you

when you need someone to care.

And may your heart know that my heart

is with you everywhere.

My process to evolution...

I am going to start keeping a blog "journal" of my progress (I hope it will be progress *GULP*) Ok, enough is enough....I am jumping on (the scale). My friend Liz is doing a weekly blog on Wednesday called "Weighty Wednesday" (jakeandlizheugly.blogspot.com) and I have decided to join her. We both have been dancing around the "diet" thing for weeks now and I guess it's time we really do it. We all know that dieting doesn't work I am just going to start the process to find my authentic self, a healthier me.and post it every Wednesday's as well. I have also started Isagenix and an exercise program so I am now on my way and have no excuses. For far to long I have been unhappy with my outside appearance and want my inside and my outside to match (is that really to much to ask?). I kind of see myself like an onion *lol* and for those of you that know me well know I like my onions, onions have many layers and I am just going to start slowly peeling away the layers until I reach my inners sweet self *snicker*. I seem to forget about myself and put myself last...don't most mothers? But I have to realize that in order for me to be the best mom I can I have to take time for me. A Happy MOM is a HEALTHY MOM.....but most of all, I want to be a good example for my sons. So here I go.....I am looking FORWARD (not backwards not even a peek) to the journey ahead and what the future holds....and if by chance you'd like to join me or just want to "check up" on me I will be posting "My process to evolution" every Wednesday........Here we go!!

The past is gone , the future uncertain so stay in the moment....

Spring Snow...

Weather Forecast: Spring begun more than 10 days ago, but tonight there may be some light snow showers. Out my window, an overcast sky and light winds blow a chill through the air....SPRINGS light snow is already falling.

I opened Ayden's blinds to find a snowy cold Monday morning. I grumbled "It's spring, who ordered the snow..this sucks!" Ayden quickly replied "Mom, Heavenly Father sent us the snow so it doesn't suck" I was completely humbled by my six year old. I remember just how precious our children are and thankful for all the many blessings our Father in Heaven bestows on us even if we don't think of it as a blessing. I looked at the beautiful spring snow through the eyes of my 6 year old son and smiled.

And they brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God' (Mark 10:13-14).

Are you kidding me.....

My tooth fell out and left a space, so big my tongue can touch my face. And every time I smile I show, the place where something used to grow. I miss my tooth as you can guess but now I have to brush one less! I will put my tooth in a pouch, and on the pillow I will sleep. In the morn I will peep and find a small gift for me to keep.
So I have to admit we have had our share of mouth injuries in the past 24 hours. This afternoon while at our fiends the Heugly's, Jackson was bouncing on as pogo stick and slipped, lost his balance and knocked out his 2 top front teeth! Luckily, they were baby teeth that needed to come out but it was still a shock to see the hole in his moth and all the blood ....thanks Liz for giving me some perspective, I freaked out a little. Jackson has a fat lip and got a bloody nose, he must have hit pretty hard. He isn't too happy about the whole thing and afraid that people are going to make fun of him. He has been babying these 2 loose baby teeth for months and I guess it just freaked him out a little to see and feel the gap and the blood, hummmm must run in the family! I tried to explain that everyone losses their baby teeth and that the tooth fairy will come tonight but he didn't want to hear it and sobbed for his "2 teeth he'll never have again". Ahhh to be a mom to 3 young active boys has been quite an adventure the past 2 days. Guess I should prepare for "real" more serious injuries if this is going to be the trend but I wouldn't trade my boys and their "owies" for anything!!

Close call....

“I got an owie” says the child when he falls down. A kiss and hug from mommy is his first aid. I hope stitches don't comes next for he smiles and jumps exclaiming “Look no hands!”

As you know, Landon is always climbing and jumping off things but yesterday he had a close call......he slipped of the stool and hit his lip on the kitchen counter. I panicked and almost ran him to the emergency room thinking that his teeth went through his bottom lip and it needed stitches. The cut inside his lip is much worse than the one in the outside and I really couldn't see because of all the blood.....yuck. Grandma Adrienne went and got him some popsicles and he got lots of hugs. About an hour after it happened he brought me the first aid kit and said "mommy, I need and banaid" and pointed to his lip "owie!". He is so smart. This morning he had a fat lip but for the most part is in good spirits. I think he might have more "owies" than Jackson and Ayden and maybe the first to get stitches if he keeps jumping and climbing! At least he keeps me on my toes..........never a dull moment!
