Sledding....

Monday we went down to go sledding at Grammy and Grampy's house in Woodland Hills. The boys had so much fun and I had fun crashing into trees! They had made sledding trails in and out of the trees and the boys had a great time sliding down and climbing back up over and over for 4 hours!! They were all soaked and exhausted when they were done :) I think Christopher spent 80% of the time "improving" the trails shoveling snow, making berms and pathways...way to go Christopher! We look forward to going again soon!!

Primary Children's Medical Center

On Christmas Eve we took all the blankets and hats to the NICU at Primary Children's Medical Center. I don't know what it is but every time I walk in the door I get disoriented and overwhelmed with emotion. We wanted to take the blankets up to the NICU and not just leave them with a volunteer at the desk but I couldn't find my way, I had been there so many times but this time I couldn't find it. I was disappointed that none of Landon nurses were there, I looked forward to seeing them. We stopped in the cafeteria for a quick bite to eat and as we were sitting there a life flight team raced by, I took one look at the tiny isolate and tears immediately ran down my face. I am thankful (although the pain is still in my heart) that he took his first ride on a helicopter (life flight) when he was just hours old to PCMC and that they had the tools and knowledge to help him become the healthy curious little boy that he is today. We are truly blessed that Landon is here with us today and that he had such wonderful doctors and nurses to take care of him. Again, I want to thank those that took time out of their own busy Christmas schedule to help me with my project, I wouldn't have been able to do it without you and it meant more to me than you will ever know. I have been so blessed with great friends, family and strangers that have taken my little project to heart and made it a part of their Christmas, I am so grateful for you all. Ok, now on to next year.....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

*Twas the month of Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
*At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me..*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
*Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS , not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and wish everyone
you meet MERRY CHRISTMAS because
Christ is 'The Reason' for the Christ-mas Season!

Thank you!

This week has been very emotional for me...Landon turning 3 and completing my project for the NICU at Primary Children's Hospital might have something to do with it. I want to thank all of you that took time to make blankets for my project this year, this little project is very near to my heart and it meant more to me than you will ever know. Also, I want to thank my sweet sister Chanelle for making all the knit hats, you are so awesome. Sunday I started to make a little video for Landon's birthday and it brought back all the emotions of his birth. I remembered how I felt when they took him on life flight, all the trips to see him in the NICU, all his wonderful doctors and nurses who took care of him, all the tears, all the tiny triumphs he made, explaining everything to Jackson and Ayden, spending Christmas Eve and Christmas without him at home, reading and singing to him, and all the prayers....it seemed like yesterday except while I was overcome with emotions and tears I was holding my precious Landon. Today I am blessed with his mischievous smile, stubborn attitude, contagious laugh, his curiosity (messes) and his sweet spirit. Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help, kind words and encouragement.

Twilight before Christmas...

Just a little something for all us Twilight fans...Summit announced that New Moon's target release date is November 20, 2009..Merry Christmas to me!! Anyone want to go to Forks?? Seriously Liz and I are going in the spring, you know what they say the more the merrier!

tired birthday boy....

Happy 3rd Birthday Landon

Were does the time go?? It seems like just yesterday I was on bed rest patiently awaiting Landon's birth, he was trouble from conception...you think I am joking. There was a time that I didn't think this day would come but despite his rough beginning on this earth he is a very happy, healthy and smart little boy. I am truly blessed that Landon is my little boy and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank my father in heaven for him. His mischievous smile melts my heart and his laugh is contagious. I sometimes wonder what I would do if I did have him to keep me on my toes. Life sometimes isn't easy for him being the little brother, getting hauled to this game or that practice but he takes it in stride...usually running away as fast as he can. I will never forget the feeling of pure joy in my heart when I finally got to bring him home and all the sleepless nights simply watching him sleep, I still do that :)

3 things about Landon

1. He loves to make messes
2. He hates to eat
3. He has a family that loves him soooo much

Room for a Little One....

This is Jackson reading Room for a little one for Landon on Christmas Eve while he was in the NICU at PCMC. The boys couldn't visit their newborn baby brother so we recorded them reading him stories and singing him songs and we played them to him when we went to see him so he could hear their voices and know how much they loved him. It was very hard for them to understand why Landon couldn't come home and why they couldn't go see him...I cried playing back the videos in the NICU praying for my precious baby to get better so he could come home and meet his big brothers. It was very special to watch this video again remembering just how blessed we are to have him as part of our family.

Brother's SHOULD be FRIENDS....

Tonight we watched the new ABCfamily Christmas special A Miser Brothers' Christmas....it was so cute! It was so great to see two of my favorite Christmas characters in a new special. One of the songs in the show really hit home and I thought I would share. While we were watching and after this song was over I looked over at my sons and Jackson and Ayden had their arms around each other, it brought tears to my eyes and warmed my heart...

Snowflakes...

Can you say blizzard...with all the snow and no where to go (thank goodness) we decided to hunker down at home and do some fun crafts.....The boys and I made paper snowflakes! Ok so let's play a snowflake version of ISpy. Can you find the BYU snowflake, the U snowflake? What about an angel, a manger, a Christmas tree, a snowman, a gingerbread man, a Christmas ribbon, an ornament, a Christmas light?? We had so much fun and it was a great craft for a snowy day. The boys hung their favorites in their rooms....so cute. Now we (really just me) are out to shovel the walks *UGGGGG* my least favorite part of winter, but maybe we will still have some energy to build a snowman :)

Beethoven's theme for ninth symphony...

Jackson has been playing the recorder in school for about a month and he loves it. He is excited that he can play a song and looks forward to playing in the school Christmas sing along next Wednesday. Did you notice the snow in the background...looks like it's here to stay this time.

Christmas Crafts..

On Monday Liz and I went to Jackson's and Christian's class to be "Mrs. Fun"....Liz saw this darling idea of making a Christmas Tree card out of a hand print and they turned out so cute! I will be making them with my other boys this weekend. It is really easy you just get a piece of card stock and fold it in half, using a sponge put green paint on your child's hand and press it firmly on the paper with the card opening to the right....let it dry then add a gold or silver star to the top and a brown rectangle on the bottom for the trunk. We added a cute ribbon to the side and each child added a their own special message to their chosen family member or friend. They are soooo CUTE!!

Ayden made this darling Christmas Tree in his class using a sugar cone, green frosting and holiday candies....he did a great job and can't wait to show his dad :)

Great Job boys!!

Jr. Jazz

Jackson had his first real Jr. Jazz game last night and he did a great job. He scored 8 out their 18 points and was an awesome guard. He was so excited to have a game since they have been practicing for a month...we look forward to cheering him on every Wednesday until the end of March. Go JAZZ!!

Snow!!!

The boys had a great time playing in the 4 inches of snow we got today. They made snow angels, tried to ride their sleds, ate some (I said no more times then I could count) and Jackson even tried to ride his snowboard *lol* They played until it was almost dark and they were frozen after about 2 hours of snowy fun. It will probably all be gone tomorrow but I think the cold is here to stay......Thank goodness for hot chocolate!

I need "sticky tape"

Saturday Landon came and asked me for some "sticky tape" and I had no idea what he wanted it for so I said no you don't need any tape. A couple of minutes later Landon exclaimed "I did it" so I went to see what he did....apparently his mom needs to buy him some new socks *LOL* I have to admit he is very creative.

Snowboarding ..

Jackson starting his snowboarding lessons today after school up at Snowbirds Ski School. I was a bit apprehensive so I followed the bus up to Snowbird just to check things out and of course take some pictures. It was a nice sunny day and he had a great time. He looked so big and asked me what I was doing there, when did he grow up so fast?? Can I just say...we NEED some snow!!

finding just the right one

The boys just love stuffed animals and we let them get a new one every year around Christmas. They all had a ball choosing just the right one, stuffing it and naming it. It was so much fun but I am starting to wonder if they multiply on there own because every time I turn around it seems like we have more then I remember....

watch out here comes "spiderJackson"

Last night we went to The Gateway to see the lights and have dinner. We stopped into Dick's Sporting Goods and Jackson just had to climb the rock wall. It was 2.5 Stories and he scaled it in 3 minutes and was back on the ground. There was a group of adults visiting from San Francisco climbing the wall with much difficulty and needing coaxing from the rest of the group to keep going. Jackson put on the harness, climbing shoes and started up the wall like it was nothing and they were all amazed at the fearless way he climbed and cheered him on forgeting about their friend having trouble. He was amazing and we couldn't believe he went all the way to the top, it was so high I almost got sick watching *lol* Way to go Jackson!!

Festival of Trees

We ventured out yesterday afternoon to one of our favorite holiday activities....The Festival of Trees. It was so much fun! The boys enjoyed all the fun crafts and the yummy sweet rolls. We loved all the trees and I was surprised to see the The Cullen's donated a tree and that Bella donated a Gingerbread House *lol* We had a great time and the boys got really excited for Christmas since this is the first of many Christmas actives to come.

Children's Discovery Gateway

We had a fun afternoon at the CDG with Natalie and Brenna. Lanodn loved all the "Christmas" colored balls and could have played in the water all day...he was soaked after a minute but didn't care and continues to play. Brenna was a cute little checker and rode the horse in the farm. It was a fun playdate!!

Just show'n a little team spirt...

Ahhhh Landon...

This fit's Lanodn to a "tee". When I saw it I had to get it for him and I was quickly reminded of when we went to get our pictures taken with Santa this year. When we arrived he was fine but took one look at Santa and began to cry holding tightly onto Ryan. After a minute Ryan walked over and set him upon Santa's lap, Landon stopped crying and turned to Santa saying cheerfully "Hi Santa" as if nothing ever happened....so typical of Landon. We are reminded every holiday season just how blessed we are to have him even if he's naughty or nice *lol*

OCD....

I have seen the movie 3 times and let's be honest I could go again. And yes I started reading Twilight again on Sunday (I have read it 3 times already) so I guess it's time to admit that I have a little problem called OCD. I have the feeling that I am not the only one with OCD since I have some great friends who shall remain nameless until they also come to terms with their problem that have been my Twienablers *LOL* I can't wait for New Moon and will start reading that again probably this weekend. So seriously what is wrong about dreaming about a Vampire named Edward?? Could it be that he's 17 and fictitious..........ummm no!

Something to look forward too.....

Summit’s ‘Twilight’ Is No. 1 Film With $70.6 Million

“Twilight,” a teen-vampire love story, beat out releases from Hollywood studios to become the top film at U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend with an estimated $70.6 million in ticket sales, the second-highest ever for an independent film.

Summit said yesterday it will begin production on a second film, which will be called “New Moon,” the same title as the Meyer book it’s based upon. The studio is also interested in the rights for the latest installment, “Breaking Dawn,” published Aug. 2, said Rob Friedman, Summit’s co-chairman and chief executive officer, in an interview last week.

TWILIGHT

Amazing!! Yes, it happened at 12 midnight..I saw Twilight!! I still have butterflies.....it was amazing...if it wasn't sold out I would have stayed for the next showing, seriously. I will make this short and sweet so I don't give anything away but if you have read the book you know what happens but it is amaing to see it on the silver screen...it is purly magical!! Robert Pattinson was incredible as Edward Cullen. I was a bit apprehensive when he was cast but now I can see no one else playing that role....he WAS Edward. Kristen Stewart was a wonderful Bella Swan and the chemisty between them was intense and captivating. They did a great job following Stephenie Meyers masterpiece and I was pleasently surprised to see her cameo. Yes once again when the Cullen clan made their first apperance in the movie I screamed but atleast this time I wasn't the only one and it happened several more times throughtout the movie *LOL* I will be going to see it again as soon as I can find tickets and I am now looking forward to New Moon and yes Summit has confirmed that they have started filming...anyone want to go???

sleep deprived or something else??

Today I was out running a couple of errands and stopped by Shopco to pick up the new Disney DVD Wall-E and some cleaning supplies. I was in the store for maybe a minute when Landon put his head down on his hands. In less than a minute I heard something...he was snoring! The boy that never stops was sound asleep in a shopping cart. I snapped a picture and then a frighting thought came to mind...he must be getting sick :(

Fall clean up...

Pretty Leaves
Pretty leaves are falling down,
Green, orange, yellow and brown.
Here comes one colored red,
It landed on my head.
With the weather being so nice on Saturday we could no longer pretend that we didn't see all the leaves in the back yard that needed to be raked up. The boys (Ayden and Landon) both grabbed a rake happy to help their dad make a pile of leaves...I think they had an ulterior motive like jumping in them and making a big mess again :) Jackson grumbled as he was forced to help..he was just fine watching everyone else while he jumped on the trampoline. It was a nice sunny day and before we know it we will be shoveling snow!!

Glitter Photos

6 Days!!!

Most of you know I have this little "obsession" with Twilight *the Vampire book series By Stephenie Meyer*. The Movie is in only 6 days and with my fellow Twilight obsession bff's we will get to quench our "thirst" for Edward at a Twilight girls night out.....the highlight of course will be seeing the movie at Midnight who knows I might just stay all night!! *LOL* I have also heard and read rumors that they have started filming the second book!! The soundtrack came out last week and is available on itunes. If you haven't read it yet *seriously* you still have a little time to get bitten :)

Only 40 days till Christmas!!!

First of all I want to thank my sweet sister Chanelle for all her hard work knitting the hats for my project. Chanelle you ROCK!! If you would like to order a custom super cute handmade knit hat for someone you love just go to her blog:
www.littleprincessandthepea.blogspot.com

Many of you know that our precious little Landon spent his first Christmas in the NICU at PCMC. It was a very hard Christmas for our little family because our sweet baby boy was so sick and couldn't spend Christmas at home with us. For the past 2 Christmas's I
have enjoyed playing Santa to all the babies in the NICU. I have taken quilts, blankets and knit hats for all the babies who will spend their first Christmas in the NICU just as Landon did so they know they too are loved and that Santa didn't forget them. So here is where you come in...there are 60 NICU beds at PCMC and for the past 2 years everyone of them has been occupied on Christmas Eve by a precious newborn. That is a lot of hats and blankets to be made so I need your help, if you are a quilter, knitter or would like to help in any other way *or know someone who is* your talents are much needed!! There are only 40 days until Christmas and I am feeling the crunch especially with the recent happenings in my family. If you would like to help me please let me know and I will be forever grateful...Merry Christmas!!

Grandma

Many of you know that my grandma has been in the ICU since last Thursday. It was touch and go for a while and her health continued to deteriorate after many set backs until an emergency surgery Tuesday. This morning I am thankful to report that she is doing much better and looks to be on a road to recovery at least for now. We are very hopeful and look forward to her continuing to improve. We as a family feel so blessed for her great doctors and nurses who have attended to her and will continue for a while to help my grandma's health improve. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes. I love you grandma!!

It's begining to look a lot like Christmas!!

We had quite a surprise this morning as we were rushing out the door to get the boys to school.....6 inches of snow! We had to head back in and scramble to find winter coats, gloves, hats and snow boots. After brushing off all the snow from my car we headed out, not going very fast because of the blizzard. The boys made it safely to school and on the way home Landon begged to so out in the snow. I bundled him up and he happily went out...for about 10 seconds until he exclaimed "mommy it's cold" and came back in. Jackson is looking forward to his snowboarding lessons this year and Ayden want's to go sledding and have hot chocolate..yummy! Just a quick question......how early is to early to put up my Christmas decorations....with the beautiful snow I am feeling the Christmas spirit! *LOL*

You CAN Make History...Tuesday, November 4th

In need of some "comfort food"

With the week before Halloween being so hectic with all the boys projects and the weekend being stormy we were in definite need of some good old fashioned comfort food. Saturday I made Chicken Noodle Soup and Bread Sticks..it was so yummy and just what we need after all the Halloween Candy. Sunday I made Beef Stroganoff and Apple Crisp from apples grown on my neighbors tree in my backyard....both were so great. It was nice to get back in the kitchen and sit down as a family....now back to mac & cheese and pb&j :)

Our "Spook"tacular Halloween

After carving pumpkins, dressing up, trunk or treating and trick or treating (in the rain) we had a great Halloween. Jackson and Ayden carved their pumpkins all by themselves this year and both did a great job. Ayden did a scary pumpkin and Jackson a spider..they turned out so cute! We had a neighborhood "Trunk or Treat" complete with chili, soups and stews..it was so yummy. Despite being a darling lion at school Ayden opted to be Darth Vader, Jackson and Landon were still LEGO'S, Ryan was Tigger (thanks honey) and I was Eeyore. It was so much fun and all the little kids loved Tigger, so cute! The boys had a great time trick or treating despite the drizzle and we stopped by a Haunted House at our neighbors the Van Leeuwens...thanks David for scaring the #$%* out of Ayden. We stopped by our friends the Heugly's and ate some yummy snacks, Thanks :) Landon zonked out at 8 and the boys got down to the serious business of sorting their loot. Amongst the mountain of candy we spotted a candy cane and Jackson exclaimed "who gives out candy canes on Halloween, how old is that??" we all laughed. We even found 2 suspect "Chinese" candies and Ayden said "good thing we found them before Landon ate it and died!" *LOL* We have so much candy that I swear it multiplies every time I see it!! We had a great Halloween and missed all those we didn't spook this year. We look forward to next Halloween in 362 days...what will we be???

Halloween Parade

Our morning started bright and early to avoid any mishaps or being late. Everyone got up excited, had breakfast and then we started to put on our costumes...that is when it happened. Jackson was going to be a Storm Trooper from Star Wars, Ayden and Landon were both LEGO'S. When Jackson put on his costume we both gasped in horror, it was to small, not just a little a lot :( I panicked and so did he. I quickly talked him into being Ayden's Lego with Landon and dashed down to the basement to start finding Ayden a temporary replacement costume. I found a cute Lion I inherited from my mom that my brother Christopher wore when he was little and very quickly did his make-up. They all looked so cute and nobody knew that we almost had a mini disaster this morning. They all had fun in their classroom parties and are so excited to go trick or treating tomorrow. Who knows what they will be on Halloween *LOL*

4th Grade Rendezvous

Jackson and his buddy Christian had their first "Rendezvous" at school yesterday. The had to come up with a product, get a business license and set up shop. Being 2 days before Halloween they came up with a store called "It's In The Bag". They tye dyed "trick or treat" bags out of old pillow cases....with some loving help from their moms (thanks Liz)....it was so cute!! It was a bit messy but a fun project *lol* Great job boys :)
